Summer Soccer Update

Summer Soccer Update

Over the past few weeks there has been many meetings and conversations between South Shore Soccer Club Presidents, SSDSA and Soccer Nova Scotia in order to figure out how to best bring soccer activities to the South Shore.

I'm sure you can appreciate the strict protocols that have been issued from the Province in order to keep everyone safe and that all our South Shore clubs face different challenges when it comes to assessing and managing these protocols. The decisions have not been easy and SSDSA very much appreciates the time and effort that Club Presidents have put in to making their determinations. As of now there will be no soccer at Upper County United Soccer, Queens County Soccer Club, Chester Soccer Club and South Shore United FC.

West Nova Fuels (Lunenburg United) Soccer Club, under the direction of Sherry Ritcey, and Thunder FC (Bridgewater), under the direction of Lindsay Van Kessel, will be proceeding towards offering soccer activities. They are still working on their plans, which will need to be approved by Soccer Nova Scotia, but they are optimistic that they can work with the protocols and overcome the challenges of offering summer soccer activities.

SSDSA recommends that for any parents on the South Shore that would like to enroll their kids in summer soccer, that they reach out to West Nova fuels soccer club (http://www.wnfsoccerclub.ca/) and Thunder FC (http://thunderfc.ca/) for updates on their programs and availability to sign up with those clubs.

SSDSA wishes everyone a happy and safe summer.
